About the 2018 Workshop

The workshop is intended to be a forum for discussing research on animal biodiversity and wildlife management in the Caribbean region. It will be a unique opportunity to bring together researchers and conservationists working in different parts of the region. The workshop will consist of plenary talks by invited speakers, general sessions of contributed talks, and two mini-symposia:

  • “Genetic diversity and differentiation patterns across animal species in the Caribbean”
  • “Potential effects of climate change on Caribbean biodiversity and ecosystems”

This third edition is co-organized with the University of the French West Indies (Université des Antilles (UA)).

TENTATIVE PROGRAM
May 28th: Training session for students
May 29th – June 01st: Contributed talks and round table discussion

The social program will include a banquet (pre-registration required) and optional excursions on half a day certainly the afternoon of June 01st (Guadeloupe coral reefs, Guadeloupe rain forest, Memorial ACTe).

The detailed scientific program of the talks will be established by the organizing committee in early 2018, when all abstracts submitted by the participants will have been evaluated.

Further information on the program will be communicated through our Facebook page and on our website in the coming weeks.

Call for Speakers

We welcome conservation scientists coming from different disciplines, including but not limited to evolutionary ecology, behavioral ecology, parasitology and population genetics, as well conservation practitioners and managers of nature reserves. Registration and abstract submission for talks and posters will open soon. Speakers for parallel session talks will be selected from submitted abstracts by the organizing committee.

If you have any questions please contact Anne-Sophie Gicquiaux by e-mail (contact(at)caribaea.org).
